Busy Days With The Garden Project

It waa a busy day in the gardens…..

The barn red paint was finished on the chicken coop. 300 Oxblood Lilies were planted around the old Live Oak. Mulch was moved. Iris were planted. The Community Garden was loved on. Hands were dirty, muscles were tired and hearts were full.

Helping people help themselves.

Today should be a gorgeous day in the Hill Country. I am planning on digging up the Amarylis, the Tropical White Spider Lilies, and more Oxblood, Paperwhites and Iris.

The free Flooded House Garden Dig is Saturday, March 9th at 8 am. Fill up a paper bag with bulb goodies. First come, first serve. Heirloom Bulbs in containers were be available for purchase, by donation. All proceeds go back into The Garden Project, which helps pay at-risk and mentally challenged teenagers and young adults to grow, harvest and sell their own garden goods. Studies show the health benefits of digging in the earrh, which helps combat depression and anxiety.

If you would like to be a part of our busy days with The Garden Project, either purchasing flower bulbs, mentoring, donating or volunteering, please email me ….
