April’s Flowers

Yesterday I came home to the most amazing gift…..bags of bulbs from a blog reader. I was completely overwhelmed with such kindness from someone I didn’t even know. I truly believe that gardeners are the most generous souls there are.

April’s flowers came wrapped individually in simple brown paper bags. The names of the bulbs were carefully written each sack. April sent 5 different varieties of Garlic and 2 varieties of Crocus, including the highly prized Saffron. All this joy came as a “thank you” for Oxblood Lilies that I share. Miss Margaret would be so pleased. (If you don’t know Miss Margaret, please see previous posts about Saving the Gardens for Miss Margaret).

Kindness goes a long way, especially in the toxic, hate-filled, quick-to-argue culture we currently live in. But I do believe that gardeners like April will be the change agent. One simple act has a ripple effect….kindness begets kindness.

Happy Gardening, my friends. Continue to sow the seeds of kindness that our world so desparately needs. If you’d like some Oxblood Lilies as well, please email heirloombulbgirl@gmail.com. I’m happy to share anything I have with you. It’s just what gardeners do . Happy digging!!!
