Oxblood Lilies and Other Fall Delights

“It’s Summer, but Fall is coming.”

I survey the gardens each day and watch new plants fade away.

The veggies are ending their season. The Zinnias are getting leggy. The Roses are resting. Few flowers are in bloom.

Thank goodness for the Oxblood Lily and Other Fall delights!!!!

Few things invigorate my soul quite like the Oxblood Lily. The beautiful blood-red lily will make her arrival after the first soaking rain in the Fall. I admit, sometimes I can’t wait for nature, and I have been known to soak the lilies with a deep hand-watering session. Oxblood Lilies bring out the very best in me and provide hope in the Southern Gardener.

Oxblood Lilies and other Fall delights will be featured in an old-fashioned plant swap/sale/donation over Labor Day Weekend. All proceeds go to The Garden Project, to pay the Garden Helpers. They have already starting bagging up seeds and bulbs in preparation for the big sale. Garden Helpers are excited to still have things to do in the garden. If you would like to come, simply bring a flower to give-away, and come get some lilies. For more information, please email heirloombulbgirl@gmail.com
