“Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Gardeners have amazing amounts of faith.
The simple act of putting an organic sliver of plant material into the ground, and waiting for growth is one of the greatest acts of faith there is.
Faith is believing in what is not seen. Hoping for what is good. Clinging to the belief that a seed brings forth life…..in spite of it all.
This year, I planted 8 different varieties of heirloom poppies……and then watched Matilda, my little bantam chicken, scratch up everything I planted. Not just once or twice either. Eventually, through a stick barrier, I found a creative way of keeping Matilda out of my poppies. I am still hopeful that a few poppies survived the scratch-fest.
The faith of a gardener.
Believing in beauty…..in spite of it all.
